Skagen Watches - About the brand

Skagen Denmark was originally founded by Henrik and Charlotte Jorst in 1989. The Skagen brand is inspired by the contemporary Danish design movement and takes its name after the Danish fishing village. The watch styles are targeted at those looking for elegantly simple timepieces designed for style and function. The watch styles are instantly recognisable from their unique minimalist appeal.

The Skagen range stands out from other watch brands as all the watches have a superbly slim case for those that do not prefer bulky watches. Even though they are combine fashion and quality, they are very well priced and affordable.

Their flagship mens and ladies watches product features a round case with a curved mineral glass bearing a slim leather strap or the metal versions feature their classic mesh bracelet. The models are continuously evolving to keep in line with the latest trends now featuring the latest rose gold colours, but still maintain their minimalist appeal.  The latest range now appeals to those who prefer the sporty look, but still maintaining the clean lines. Our range of Skagen watches can be found here.

  2. Are smart watches ready to take on traditional watches?

Exciting times are ahead with the wave of smart watches entering the market. Apple last week gave away a few details of their “Apple watch”.  Were you impressed with the features? I was certainly impressed, but still unsure if it is enough to replace my traditional watch.

Most people wear watches to conveniently tell the time and to make a fashion statement. The Apple watch would satisfy the fashion element for some; however is no comparison for vast array of styles, sizes, shapes available for traditional watches. Apple have obviously taken this into consideration having different styles available even though the case shape is the same.

What does the Apple watch do? It will beam notifications, social media updates , app and Siri (apples voice control) to our wrist, therefore avoiding the need to take out other devices. So the break from technology whilst our devices were stored away will no longer exist; is this a good thing?

If you cannot wait for these supercharged gadgets to enter the market, why not have a look at our Casio G-Shock collection.
